About Us

Local Soul was born out of a desire to find fun, new designs to show off our Libertyville pride and traditions -- from the Wildcats to Lunch in the Park.  We love the spirit of Libertyville and love the sense of community that embodies everything here, but we also recognize that that spirit rings true for your community, no matter where that is! Local Soul is about sharing your love of all things local -- from helping businesses with branded merchandise, school spiritwear, or team/club sports fan gear.   

Our founder, Betsy Matthews, fills her days as a busy healthcare executive and then switches into Wife/Mom mode to juggle the crazy schedules of two boys that love sports.  "As a student athlete, I remember how much my teammates and I loved our sports and our school, and when I saw my children's love for this community and school sports growing, I wanted to find great designs to help showcase their enthusiasm.  When I didn't find what I was looking for, I decided to get to work on it myself! A few years in and now my husband, Andy and I have learned machine embroidery, and our two boys, Miles and Owen, get in on the printing process as well!"

So, how does an accounting type generate great designs? (Hint: She doesn't do it alone)

Enter Rob Mulsoff.  As a busy freelance art director and all around creative type, Rob knew just what to do when he was presented with this concept. He jumped in without hesitation. His artistic ability shines in every original Local Soul design.  Rob and his wife have two children who share his love of Libertyville, Lacrosse, and great design.
